The Anno Domini Calendar

AD 2070.
World War III erupts between members of the United Nations and the Geopolitical Liberation Front. After several years the war grinds to a halt, and a hasty armistice is signed between the remaining nations.

AD 2092.
The lunar city of Selene is established near the South Pole of the moon.

AD 2092 - 2192.
Due to an increase of separatist movements on Selene, war becomes inevitable and erupts between the Earth and the moon. It quickly becomes a conflict for the lunar colony's independence.

AD 2192.
The First Interplanetary War ends with another uneasy ceasefire after heavy losses are sustained on both sides. Because of bombardment from the Moon, the Earth is reduced to a barren wasteland save for a few large cities scattered across the globe.

AD 2224.
Remaining Earth cities join together, forming the Empire. Leo Cana is born.

AD 2242.
Selene rekindles the flames of war with the Empire as they lack essential agricultural nitrogen available so abundantly on the Earth. The Second Interplanetary War begins with domination on the part of Selenian forces, but later the tide is turned as the bulk of Earth's resources begins to shine over Selene's superior weaponry. Lunar forces are driven back to the moon, leading to the development and research of new prototype fighter craft, and thus beginning the kamikaze legacy put forth by project Einhander.

AD 2242 - 2245.
Success of the Einhander sortie program strike fear into the hearts of Imperial forces, and begin to be referred to as Angels of Death.

AD 2245.
The final Einhander mission to take on the Imperial juggernaut begins on December 12. The unknown pilot manages to single handedly push through the entirety of Earth's last defensive forces. Although succeeding in mission, the pilot learns of the true reason why the war was started, and in a preventive measure is targeted by Selenian governmental forces for execution. However, the pilot evades, and disappears.

AD 2246.
An armistice is signed between Selene and the Empire, formally ending hostilities between the two nations. Leo Cana, who had become an Einhander pilot, is diagnosed with a terminal illness and is put into cryogenic stasis.

AD 2255.
Construction of the space colonies commences. Universal Century begins.
