Origin/History: Much like its Russian counterpart, the Chinese Empire originally joined the Nocturne Alliance when politial and social problems were at an all-time high. And like Russia, China requested independence from the Alliance, and was granted it. But unlike Russia, China descended down an opposite path-a path of darkness.

In late AC 231, China's economy was booming. It had reestablished itself as a major player in world industry, and significantly improved its citizens' quality of life. However, a group of power-hungry government officials decided that they wanted more money, more territory, no matter what. A coup was soon under way, and with military connections strong these individuals managed to topple the government in power, and seize control. The Republic of China was renamed the Chinese Empire, and subsequently came under the rule of a single dictator.

The Chinese Empire soon commenced military buildup, casting away the original Alliance Fedi-type suits for Zeonic ones. And through a proposed "territory reclamation plan," they outlined a territorial takeover initiative that included several countries under Russian control. Angered by the Russians' statement that they would "drown in a pool of their own blood," China strengthened its defenses as well, and prepared itself for a war that was quickly becoming inevitable.
