Origin/History: Founded in AC 220, the Shinter was originally a conglomerate of splinter Neo-Zeonic supporters, Spacenoid rebels, and remnants of the Seikuu Syndicate, but later unified a majority of the space colonies together in one unilateral alliance. The Shinter has a very dark past, and was the organization that engineered the Machine mechanized army that nearly caused humanity's end.

Before the Shinter was known by this name, it was known by another-the Seikuu Syndicate. This Syndicate was involved in many dark acts, primarily dealing in genetic experimentation and automated weapons systems creation. The Daluma project was one of the Syndicate's brainchildren, and so was the first creation of the Slade mobile weapons-the Machines' predecessor mobile dolls that caused terror among the Earth Sphere and everntually destroyed Selene.

Years later, officials formed the Shinter as a consortium for the freedom of all Spacenoids. Soon finding differences with the Nocturne Alliance, the L1 Trade War began, pitting two spectrums of the human race-naturals and Newtypes-against each other. However, as time passed, a hidden group within the Shinter under the control of Haulpschalter began designing the Machines and eventually gained enough power to seize control. As a result, in order to display his power, thousands of Shinter citizens that were labeled dissenters were murdered during the Core 3 massacre.

When the Machine army became self-aware, and began the systematic extermination of humanity, the Shinter Orbital Fleet and all remaining Shinter forces joined their enemy, the Nocturne Alliance, in the fight to survive. Differences were pushed aside for the moment, as both sides knew that a greater task was at hand.

After the closing of the Battle at Armageddon, there was no longer the need for an alliance with NA, therefore Shinter retreated back into space to rebuild its own society from the damages it sustained. The L1 trade conflict officially ended with a formal treaty between Shinter and NA, and neither nations have had a battle or skirmish with each other since.

Seeing that their control of the other space colonies was not needed, the Shinter stepped down and allowed each Side to gain its own independence. Because of the peaceful manner in which this was done, several of the Sides became allies with the Shinter, as did the lunar colony Selene.

Today, the Shinter is significantly smaller than it was during the L1 Trade War, with its central population center located at the Northern Rim sector of the lunar surface. (It also operates several cities in its Earth-based territories, all of which contain a large populace as well.) But its soldiers are still skilled experts, ensuring that whatever threat there may be against the Shinter's prosperity will be quickly and promptly eliminated. And in order to ensure hope for the future, the Shinter has turned its back on its dark past.
