Character Story:
"It is true what they say, that the more people someone kills, the easier it becomes. I've lost count of the exact number of lives I've taken. This has led me to question one thing: what is the meaning of all this death? Since I was dead, and if I was revived because of some form of divine intervention, for what purpose? To keep heaven packed with fresh souls? The only reason I can find was that it was my mission to end the war. That's all. Many may look upon me as a freak of nature, as a product of a corrupt experiment. For the most part, they are right. But what people fail to comprehend is that I am just an average citizen. They probe me with questions about my past, about how I was able to do what I did, about the dark truth that lies within my soul. The past is finished, and I am sick of being reminded of it."

EARLY YEARS
Gabriel Vincent Fox was born on AC 205 in the lunar colony of Selene. It was a time of very little inter-colony conflict, as humanity was still a bit shellshocked by the Eve Wars of AC 195. Sure, there were occasional outbreaks of organized crime that gnawed at the utopia, but large-scale wars were nonexistent. As years passed, Gabriel grew to be a strong and healthy boy with the help of both his father's teachings and his mother's cooking. He played around like any normal kid his age, and learned many things outside his house that his parents did not teach him.

He soon grew even more to be a tall, extremely smart, and good-tempered young man. He was passing school at the top of his class with ease, and excelled in physical agility and fitness. He had a niche of good friends that helped him out with all of life's problems. But his happiness would not last forever. Things were too perfect, and sooner or later it was all bound to fall apart.

The day had come for Gabriel to leave for Selene's top military academy. His bags were packed, and his hopes were up-for it was time for him to begin his journey to becoming a well-disciplined young man. Bidding his mother and father goodbye, he walked slowly towards the street in the direction of a waiting taxi cab. But something was horribly amiss-Gabriel could feel it. His "intuitions," as it turned out, were correct. Just as he reached the street and looked back to see if everything was all right, a chemical explosion vaporized his home and his parents right in front of his eyes. He, too, ended up being injured by the large blast-and fell into a coma from vapor inhalation.

Many years later, Gabriel awoke from his deep and long slumber in an Earth hospital. It was the year AC 219 when he had originally fallen into his coma, and it was in early AC 221 he arose. Noticing drastic changes in society, and feeling a void in his heart that could not be filled, Gabriel felt alone and deserted. He could not believe that he had lost all he loved over the course of a few seconds. After wandering the colonies for some 4 months, he decided it would be best if he learned how to pilot a mobile weapon. It took him two grueling months to get the hang of flying a mobile suit, but it was worth it.

THE RETRIBUTION WAR
After a year of further preparation, Gabriel enlisted in the Guardian Liberation Force, also known as the Rogue Alliance or the "Guardians." As history has always repeated itself, a new intercolony war was brewing-the infamous Retribution War. Through many deadly battles and other exploits as a member of this elite group, Gabriel met several people who would become a large part of his life later on down the line-fellow Selenian and former Einhänder pilot Leo Cana, military analyst Jamie Scott, and old childhood friend Hector Ramirez. Ironically, also during this time, Gabriel encountered Haulpschalter, the man who would later become his enemy, revive the Seikuu Syndicate, and create the Machines.

Because of his prowess in battle, Gabriel was promoted to the officer ranks and given command of his own unit-the Reapers. He was also accepted into Guardians' top secret Nazarene program and was given the Angel Gundam. For in the late stages of the conflict, a new threat began to appear-the Slade mobile dolls and the Caliber mobile armor led by the corrupt Trinity Fortified Alliance. Emboldened by several successful assaults and occupations of enemy territory, the TFA set its sights on the moon, a vital outpost to aid in an Earth invasion. As there were only a couple of cities there, it all came down to the largest-Selene. The Reapers were sent to interfere, but because of poor launch conditions were unable to launch in time. The Slades laid waste to the lunar city.

In a final attempt to stop the TFA's advance, the Reapers led a counterattack to take down the Slade army. In the process, Gabriel encountered and killed his only brother, whom he had no idea existed until their battle on the lunar surface. Jamie Scott (who had become Gabriel's love interest) was killed, and in a last ditch effort Gabriel detonated a thermonuclear weapon. The TFA was eliminated. However, for some reason Gabriel survived the blast, perhaps due to the heavy shielding of his mobile suit.

Because of his unsuccessful self-sacrifice, Gabriel was left utterly alone once again. His love was killed, and his heart was shattered and left in pieces on the pile of metal and debris that once was the great metropolis Selene.

LIES AND DECEIT: GENETIC EXPERIMENTATION
It was then that his body and his Nazarene disappeared from public view. What happened from this date forward is something that Gabriel does not like to remember. Lied to by doctors and scientists about a so-called "ultimate treatment" for depression, he inadvertently found himself the subject of genetic modification and experimentation. Unbeknownst to him, his friend Hector had also been used, and that Haulpschalter was one of the leading men in charge. Luckily, before extended research and development could commence, Nocturne Alliance forces raided the labs Gabriel and Hector were being held in. After a week of recovery, Gabriel heard the truth; that a group of his old Guardian allies had broken away from the organization and formed their own-the Seikuu Syndicate. This group had taken part in a massacre of over a million lives, and had no regrets whatsoever. He also learned that the attack on his home during his childhood was not random at all, it was the result of hatred from people who wished to make his entire family pay for what they were-Newtypes. And although the individuals responsible for this despicable act were, ironically, Naturals, Gabriel somehow found it within himself to put aside his anger and join the NA-an Earth organization-to work to re-unify mankind.

The years pushed on until AC 226, when the Shinter began its conquest of L1. Gabriel had already been a member of the Nocturne Alliance for quite a few years, and managed to secure himself a high position as Midnight Faction commander. He had also survived several dangerous top secret operations, and was awarded many medals and ribbons for his meritorious services beyond the call of duty. As well as piloting prowess, he became skilled in hand-to-hand combat-a long Gundanium alloy katana became his signature fighting tool. Despite all these advances, the time had come for Gabriel to return to working in the daylight, for he had been hidden the darkness for so long. But would the people he had known for so long be the same as he remembered them? And what would this new conflict-ridden world be like? Thus, armed with a new found sense of hope, freshly realized Newtype abilities, and a new Gundam, Gabriel regained his identity and commenced his journey to self-discovery.

THE L1 TRADE WAR
Gabriel's significant participation in the L1 Trade War led him to become a hero of his organization. Throughout this period in his life he met his future wife, NA Intelligence Specialist Aimee Asahi, and rejoined his friend Leo Cana after his long period of absence. He met and killed insane pilot Brian Oshiro twice during this time, and did his best to ensure the security of the Nocturne Alliance. In the process he became aware of previously dormant telekinetic and electrokinetic abilities-a result of his genetic experimentation. However, an even greater war was at hand-what would become known later as the Apocalypse.

THE APOCALYPSE WAR
With the rebellion led by Haulpschalter, the Shinter and Nocturne Alliance were left with no choice but to join together, as an old threat had returned in the form of a new enemy-the Machines. In the assault on Luna II, Gabriel again encountered Brian Oshiro, and killed him. With the help of Enoch he killed Haulpschalter. The Machines, now self-aware and on a mission to destroy humankind, traveled to the cradle of civilization, to the hallowed grounds of Megiddo, Israel. The fate of humankind would be decided in the Valley of Jezreel, at the Battle for Armageddon.

Gabriel and other lead pilots of the resistance staged a final assault on the Machines on what would later become the Day of Reckoning. During the course of battle, Gabriel was killed, but was miraculously revived, and for unexplained reasons was able to use his psychokinetic abilities to destroy a large amount of the Machine hordes. However, the battle was not over.

In a final attempt to save humankind, Gabriel and Silas managed to convince Enoch that humanity was worth the life it was so preciously given. Hector was killed in the process, yet another great loss Gabriel had to suffer through.

Because of his and others valiant efforts, humanity was saved. He married Aimee, and retired from military service.

PRESENT ENDEAVORS
Today, Gabriel focuses most of his time on taking care of his new wife and two children.

Gabriel is considered by most of his friends to be a free soul with a good sense of humor. He is very respectful to elders, polite to all he meets, and rarely speaks a negative word to anyone. Ironically, the quite insurmountable atrocities he has witnessed over his life seem to have no impact on his day-to-day activities, other than revealing themselves in his anger.

He does not anger too easily; however, when provoked enough by an adversary, he has been known to reveal a very fiery and violent side to his personality that some liken to the wrath of God himself. If threatened physically, he will often revert to either temporarily or permanently immobilizing his enemies or even using deadly force to take out an opponent, only stopping himself from killing someone if his conscience takes over in time. Recently, though, he has gotten better at managing his stress and fury by writing his thoughts in a black notebook he keeps under his bed.

He has recently grown quite attached to his Audi sports car, every once in a while taking part in regional racing tournaments throughout Hope City.

Although he was retired and had no future plans to return as a full special forces combat operator for the Midnight Faction, he recently found himself renewing his commission as Red Cell commanding officer. When not on duty, he trains daily to sharpen his combat and survival skills. Some say that he has in fact become stronger and invariably more dangerous since his retirement, but that detail is left to simple speculation.
