40% of the human population (roughly 5 billion people) emigrates to space. Asteroid Juno - later known as Luna II - is placed in Earth orbit to help with space colony construction. The Minovsky Physics Society is founded at the Side 3 colony cluster.

UC 0052-58.
The human population reaches 11 billion people, 9 billion of whom have emigrated to space. The colonization program is effectively ended.

UC 0058-65.
Zeonic Rebellion against the Earth Federation occurs. Both sides begin an arms buildup in preparation for war.

Researchers from the Minovsky Physics Society discover the Minovsky Particle.

Principality of Zeon experiments with scattering of Minovsky particle to jam radar, and completes the mega particle cannon based on Minovsky physics.

Principality of Zeon completes the first prototype mobile suit, the MS-01, and later the MS-05 Zaku.

Colonial Civil War (One Year War) begins. Flanagan Institute is established to investigate the Newtype phenomenon; Federal forces develop the RX-78 as a response to Zeonic technological advancements.

Flanagan Institute develops the prototype psychommu piloting system for use by Newtypes. Colonial Civil War ends; Granada Peace Accord signed.

Federation Assembly approves of the Federation Forces Reconstruction Plan. Civilian company Anaheim Electronics begins the top secret Gundam development project. Federal forces establish their own Newtype Labs.

Stardust Rebellion occurs. RX-78GP02A Gundam is rolled out at Anaheim Electronics' Von Braun factory. A Federation naval review is attacked by Delaz Fleet, destroying 60% of the participating vessels. A colony is dropped on North America, decimating the landscape yet again.

UC 0085.
Gryps space colony constructed at Side 7. Newly formed AEUG and Karaba groups rebel against the Earth Federation. Stardust Wars begin.

UC 0088.
Stardust Wars wipe out the Federation's Titan unit, destroys most of the AEUG. Renegade Principality of Zeon members proclaim the revival of Zeon.

UC 0090.
Neo-Zeon Wars erupt. Space colony Sweetwater is remodeled into a refugee facility.

UC 0093.
After a long a destructive conflict between the rival nations, peace negotiations occur at Londenion. The Republic of Zeon gives up its autonomy, and the Federation Forces declare the eradication of all conflict.

UC 0102 - 0106.
Anaheim Electronics begins development of scaled down mobile suits.

UC 0123.
Crossbone Rebellion occurs. The war that results leads ultimately to the ruin of the Earth Federation. Crossbone Vanguard later falls into disarray, leading to an era of peace that lasts for more than a decade. After Colony Era begins in succession.
